For a fact being nominated for the award does not really mean you have an upper hand to clinch it although its a motivation factor. With that, let's see the likely winners as per statistics and break it down to predict the winner.Bukayo Saka,Emile Smith Rowe,Phil Foden and Reece James are the top contestants but how much does each of them deserve it.
1.Bukayo Saka
The Arsenal wonderkid was a player to watch last season as he played a pivotal role in the heart of Arsenal attack in the quest for Champions league spot and in the process having direct hand in 19 goals, netting 12 and 7 assist. His goals in the league keep him at the top and ahead of his fellow nominees.
2.Emile Smith Rowe
The young attackers case was similar to that of Bukayo Saka  and gave Arsenal attack more edge as he brought goals from the bench on several occasions. He is chasing the award with 11 goals and 2 assists.
3.Phil foden
Foden is in contention to defend his award which he bagged last season. The lad had fewer league goals than Saka and Smith but had a total of 14 goals  and 11 assists including domestic cup matches.
4.Reece James
His season might have been ruined by injuries but for a fact he had an outstanding display and in the process bagging 6 goals and 10 assists which keep him in the race for the award.
It will be a tight race between the four if their statistics is anything to go by.However,we predict Bukayo Saka to win the award although Phil Foden deserves it too.
